At Ruth Lee Ltd, supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do. Through our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes, we’re proud to make a real difference – not just in our industry, but right here in our local area.
This year, we’ve taken further steps to help save lives by purchasing two more defibrillators for the local community. This brings the total number of defibs donated by Ruth Lee to an impressive seven units – all available for public use and registered with The Circuit, the national defibrillator network.
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere. With survival rates dropping by 10% for every minute without CPR and defibrillation, having these vital pieces of equipment nearby can literally mean the difference between life and death.
But equipment is only part of the story.
In addition to donating defibs, 17 members of the Ruth Lee team have now completed CPR and defibrillator training via the British Heart Foundation RevivR website – a user-friendly, interactive training tool that empowers anyone to learn essential lifesaving skills at their own pace.
As a business dedicated to helping others save lives through the products we design and manufacture, it’s important to us that we ‘walk the talk’. By investing in both lifesaving equipment and education, we’re proud to be playing a role in making our community safer and more resilient.
“Our people care deeply about making a difference,” said Managing Director, Darren Griffiths “This latest initiative shows how, together, we can build a legacy of safety, readiness, and care.”
“Whether it’s supporting rescue teams through our Volunteer Heroes programme or helping ensure public access to lifesaving defibs, Ruth Lee is committed to supporting those who give back – in every way we can”
Tomos Hughes, North Wales Community Coordinator who led on the project for Save a Life Cymru said: “It has been a pleasure to work with the team at Ruth Lee Ltd. We ensured that these seven defibrillators were placed in suitable and accessible locations for the benefit of the whole community. Together we have registered the defibrillators on The Circuit and appointed a Guardian to look after them for the long term. Save a Life Cymru will continue to provide defibrillator support to the team at Ruth Lee.”
“Performing CPR and using a defibrillator in the first few minutes of a cardiac arrest can double the chance of a person surviving. Therefore, with people prepared to give CPR, offer defibrillation and have their local defibrillators registered on The Circuit – can help to save the lives of residents and visitors in the Corwen and Glyndyfrdwy communities.”
