We regularly supply training manikins to a wide range of customers, particularly the emergency services, armed forces and those who manage health & safety. But did you know they even make the odd TV appearance too?
Ruth Lee manikins lead a colourful career – from one day to the next they might be used in patient handling training, partially trapped under rubble to simulate an emergency rescue, or even suspended in the air for a working at height exercise… and a quick swim in the Thames was on the agenda for one of our dummies recently! if you’re a fan of the BBC’s highly acclaimed crime drama, Silent Witness, eagle eyed viewers will have spotted one of our Man Overboard Training dummies making an appearance in last night’s episode.
The manikin was used to test the Thames’ currents for the investigators and we took these screen shots showing ‘dead Fred’ in action.
