We’re pleased to share an exciting development within the Protect Medical Group, of which Ruth Lee is proud to be a part.
TSG Associates, a UK specialist in triage, incident management and casualty evacuation, has joined Protect Medical, strengthening the Group’s capabilities across EMS, Rescue and Tactical.
The acquisition brings valuable expertise in managing complex and multiple-casualty incidents, complementing the specialist rescue, patient handling and training solutions already available across the Group.
Here’s a closer look at TSG Associates, what they bring to Protect Medical, and the opportunities this creates for the Group and its customers.
More than 25 years focused on demanding emergency environments
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Halifax, UK, TSG develops and supplies life-saving medical equipment alongside solutions designed to support incident management.
Its customers span ambulance services, fire and rescue organisations, military users, hospitals, police forces, NGOs and international aid organisations.
This diverse customer base reflects TSG’s focus on supporting organisations operating in challenging environments, where identifying casualties, establishing priorities, maintaining control and safely evacuating injured people are all critical.
Supporting multiple-casualty incidents
A key area of TSG’s expertise is triage and incident management.
The SmartTriage™ range is designed to support first responders, medics and scene commanders during multiple-casualty incidents, with solutions covering different stages of the response – from casualty identification and first-response equipment through to command and vehicle-based systems.
When an incident becomes more complex, having systems that help responders maintain clear priorities and control can make a significant difference.
For Protect Medical, TSG therefore adds another important element to the Group’s existing emergency-response capabilities, extending beyond individual aspects of care to include the wider organisation and management of an incident.
From triage to casualty evacuation
TSG also has extensive experience in casualty evacuation.
Its Xtract™SR system provides a modular approach to moving casualties away from the point of injury, including across difficult terrain and in demanding environments.
This expertise complements several areas already represented within Protect Medical, including rescue, patient handling, transport, field equipment and training.
The strength of the Group comes from bringing together specialist companies with different areas of expertise, creating a broader range of capabilities across the emergency-response environment.
What TSG adds to Protect Medical
The acquisition strengthens Protect Medical’s Rescue, Tactical and EMS divisions, adding specialist expertise in:
- Mass-casualty management
- Triage and incident command
- Casualty evacuation
- Operational preparedness
These capabilities complement the Group’s existing expertise across emergency medical equipment, patient handling, rescue, first aid, training and medical devices.
Antonio Ciardella, CEO of Protect Medical, explains the opportunity:
“TSG has built a strong reputation among emergency services, defence organisations and international aid customers for robust, practical and reliable products. Together, we see significant opportunities to broaden the reach of TSG’s solutions and to offer our customers an even more comprehensive portfolio across rescue, tactical and EMS applications.”
Specialist companies, broader possibilities
TSG will continue to bring the specialist knowledge and operational focus that have been central to the company since its foundation in 1999.
Joining Protect Medical gives TSG the opportunity to combine this expertise with the Group’s growing international network of companies, products, customers and distribution partners.
For Protect Medical, continued Group development is about more than simply expanding the portfolio. It is about bringing together specialist businesses whose individual capabilities can complement one another and create broader opportunities for customers.
Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more about TSG’s products, expertise and people, as well as exploring the opportunities that closer collaboration across the Group can bring.
Welcome to Protect Medical, TSG Associates.
